Compared to anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and Acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit. It is especially spectacular during the dry season (June – November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water. It’s also relatively un-crowded, which allows for a more personal view and experience.
